A mysterious murder in Chennai has exploded into a full-blown political controversy that now grips Andhra Pradesh’s political corridors. What began as a tragic killing of a driver has turned into a web of accusations, hidden videos, and high-profile political links – a story that reads like a crime thriller but is very real.
The victim, Srinivasulu, also known as Rayudu, was once employed as a driver and personal aide to Vinutha Kota, a local leader from the Jana Sena Party. On July 8, his lifeless body was discovered in the Cooum River, showing clear signs of strangulation and physical assault. At first, police believed it to be a personal grudge or a case of revenge. But as investigators dug deeper, the story took a darker, more political turn.
During the investigation, police noticed tattoos on Rayudu’s hands, which helped confirm his identity. Soon after, they arrested five people, including Vinutha Kota and her husband, on suspicion of being linked to his death. However, the real twist came when a 20-minute video surfaced – allegedly recorded by Rayudu before his death.
In this chilling video, Rayudu claimed that he was offered ₹30 lakh by TDP MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy to obtain “compromising footage” of Vinutha and her husband or, as the video suggests, to harm them. He spoke of being caught in a dangerous trap – between loyalty, fear, and politics. The video, which is now a crucial piece of evidence, has turned a local murder case into a potential political conspiracy with national attention.
Soon after the video went public, Sudheer Reddy broke his silence, calling the allegations “fabricated and politically motivated.” He suggested the footage could have been AI-generated or recorded under pressure, claiming it was part of an orchestrated attempt to tarnish his reputation ahead of upcoming elections. On the other hand, Vinutha Kota, who has been granted conditional bail, denied any wrongdoing and accused her political rivals of framing her and her family for personal gain.
Police now face the tough task of uncovering the truth – verifying the authenticity of the video, tracing its source, and understanding whether it was filmed willingly or under coercion. Forensic experts have been brought in to determine if any digital tampering occurred. Investigators are also probing financial trails to confirm whether the alleged ₹30 lakh transaction ever took place.
Meanwhile, political circles in Andhra Pradesh are buzzing. Parties have seized the opportunity to attack rivals, with social media amplifying every twist in the story. What was once a private tragedy has now evolved into a high-stakes political scandal – one that intertwines crime, betrayal, and ambition.
Locals in Rayudu’s hometown describe him as a quiet, loyal worker who “knew too much” about his employer’s affairs. His death, they say, raises uncomfortable questions – not only about what happened that night but about how deeply political power can entangle ordinary lives.
This case has exposed the murky underbelly of regional politics, where personal enmities and power struggles can turn deadly. The Chennai Police, now coordinating with Andhra Pradesh authorities, are moving cautiously as the case grows more sensitive by the day. For now, three facts stand undisputed: a man was killed, a 20-minute video exists, and powerful names are on the line. Whether the video is a dying man’s confession or a political setup remains to be seen. But one thing is certain – this story has shaken the foundations of Andhra Pradesh’s political scene and left the public waiting for the truth behind the tattoos, the money, and the murder that started it all.
