Actress Rashmika Mandanna has broken her silence on persistent rumors claiming she has been banned from Kannada cinema, asserting that much of the narrative surrounding her supposed “ban” is founded on misconceptions and incomplete information.

During a promotional event for her upcoming Bollywood film Thamma, Rashmika addressed speculation about her Kannada industry ties. She admitted that while she’s aware of the swirling talk online, the world seldom sees the full context behind decisions and relationships. “The world doesn’t know what is happening on the inside,” she remarked, adding that one cannot always share every aspect of a personal and professional life with the public.

When questioned directly whether Kannada producers had imposed a ban on her, Rashmika responded simply and decisively: “So far, I have not been banned.” She urged fans and critics alike to distinguish between professional judgments (which she says she’s open to) and personal assumptions, which she believes often stem from misunderstanding.

Rashmika also spoke warmly of her continued affection for Kannada cinema. She revealed that she recently watched Kantara: Chapter 1 the film directed by Rishab Shetty, who had earlier given her a launchpad in Kannada film via Kirik Party (2016). She personally messaged the film’s creators to express appreciation and was happy to receive a gracious reply.

Though she has since built a pan-India career across Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films, Rashmika underscored that her roots in Karnataka remain deeply personal. Nevertheless, she cautioned against conflating public speculation with reality: “What people say about a person’s life doesn’t matter. What they say about our professional life, we’ll consider it and work on it.”

Her frank disclosures mark one of the most direct public responses to rumors about her Kannada industry status. As she prepares for Thamma, which releases this Diwali, fans will closely observe how her remarks resonate back home in Karnataka and whether this candid stance reshapes narratives about her filmic journey.
