New Delhi, November 3, 2025
In a landmark move that could reshape India’s scientific and industrial future, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 in New Delhi today.
The three-day event marks a major step in India’s vision to transform itself from a technology user to a global innovation leader. The highlight of the conclave is the launch of a ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation Fund (RDI Fund) one of the largest-ever investments in India’s scientific ecosystem.
A Vision for a “Viksit Bharat”
Addressing the packed hall at Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Modi said that India’s development journey must now be “driven by ideas, innovation, and intelligence.” He emphasized that the 21st century belongs to countries that lead in science and technology, and India must not settle for being a follower anymore.
“This fund is not just an investment in research, it’s an investment in our youth, our scientists, and our dreams,” the Prime Minister declared.
The RDI Fund aims to boost research and innovation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, deep tech, space technology, biotechnology, semiconductor manufacturing, and green energy. The initiative also encourages public-private partnerships and aims to make Indian industries self-reliant in critical technologies.
The Conclave That Unites India’s Brightest Minds
The Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave 2025 has brought together more than 3,000 delegates from India and abroad including Nobel laureates, leading scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Over three days, they will explore eleven key themes ranging from climate science and AI to sustainable agriculture and medical technology.
Panels, exhibitions, and start-up showcases at the event will highlight how India can accelerate its transition from a research-driven to an innovation-led economy. The conclave is expected to generate new partnerships, investments, and global collaborations aimed at pushing India into the world’s top ten innovation hubs.
India’s Turning Point in Science and Innovation
Experts see this as a turning point. For decades, India has been known for its software talent and space achievements but with this new investment, the government wants to turn research into real-world impact.
Analysts note that the RDI Fund could help Indian startups and scientists develop breakthroughs that are “Made in India, for the world.” This aligns with the government’s long-term “Viksit Bharat 2047” mission a vision to make India a fully developed, technology-powered nation by its 100th year of independence.
More Than a Summit A Statement
Beyond policy announcements and discussions, the conclave carries an emotional undercurrent with a message of confidence. It signals that India is no longer content being a consumer of technology but is ready to create, innovate, and lead.
As one young researcher at the event put it, “For us, this isn’t just about science. It’s about the belief that India can invent the future.”
A New Dawn for India’s Tech Landscape
With the launch of the ₹1 lakh crore fund, India has set the stage for a new era of self-reliant innovation. The world is watching as the country’s brightest minds step forward to transform challenges into opportunities.
As the curtains rise on ESTIC 2025, one thing is clear: India’s future will be written in code, science, and courage.
