Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a strong attack on the BJP and RSS, calling them symbols of “social poison,” after the tragic suicide of Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar. He said the incident shows how caste discrimination and humiliation are destroying the dignity of people in India, even among those serving in high positions.

In a heartfelt social media post, Rahul Gandhi said that if a senior police officer can be pushed to take his own life because of insults and caste-based bias, it reveals how deep the problem runs for ordinary Dalits and marginalized communities. He called the situation “a mirror of our broken system,” where equality exists only in words but not in practice.

Rahul also connected this tragedy to other disturbing incidents including the lynching of Hariom Valmiki in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli and the recent shoe-throwing incident at the Chief Justice of India in the Supreme Court. He said these events are not isolated but are symptoms of a growing mindset that thrives on hatred, inequality, and social division.

He directly blamed the BJP and RSS, saying their ideology promotes a “Manuvadi mindset” one that discriminates based on caste and weakens the idea of an equal India. Rahul Gandhi urged the government to ensure justice for the late officer and to stop shielding those who create a hostile and unjust environment within institutions.

Several Congress leaders backed Rahul’s remarks and demanded a fair and transparent investigation into the officer’s death. They alleged that harassment and caste-based humiliation might have pushed him to the edge, and insisted that those responsible be held accountable.

Meanwhile, political observers say this issue could become another major point of confrontation between the Congress and BJP in the coming weeks. The case has once again brought national attention to the ongoing struggle against caste discrimination and the urgent need for reform within India’s police and administrative systems.

As the investigation continues, Rahul Gandhi’s words echo a deeper question:
How many more lives will be lost before society truly accepts equality not as a slogan, but as a way of life?
