The Delhi Police has launched a new and powerful action plan to crack down on organised crime, gang networks, and repeat offenders across the city. The plan focuses on faster action, better coordination between departments, and cutting off the money supply that fuels these gangs.
A Unified Plan to Control Gang Crime
Under this new system, all wings of Delhi Police including the Crime Branch, Special Cell, and local district police will now work together under a single plan of action. This means all units will share information directly and respond quickly, so that criminals can no longer take advantage of gaps between departments.
The police have divided gangs into three main categories:
- Active in Delhi – local gangs operating within the city.
- Based outside Delhi – groups running operations from other states.
- Operating from abroad – international crime networks with Delhi links.
By identifying gangs this way, police can decide which teams will handle which network and take focused action.
Tracking Money, Messages, and Movement
The new plan is not just about arrests. Delhi Police will now target the money that keeps these gangs alive. A special financial tracking cell has been created to follow illegal money trails, fake businesses, and digital transactions that fund criminal operations.
All threat messages, calls, and videos shared by gang members will be checked using digital and forensic tools to confirm the source. This will help police collect strong evidence in court and stop criminals from using social media for intimidation.
Stronger Laws and Faster Action
Police officials have been asked to use the strictest sections of law, including the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act), against known gang leaders and their supporters.
Smaller gangs and repeat offenders will also face legal action under new provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to stop them before they grow into bigger threats.
Senior officers will hold review meetings every two weeks to check the progress of the campaign. Each district will have to report the number of arrests, seizures, and cases solved.
No Safe Space for Criminals
The new policy also aims to break the network of support that helps criminals survive including their money handlers, property owners, and online supporters. Police will take strict action against anyone helping gang members hide or promote their activities online.
Officials say the goal is not just to arrest criminals but to destroy their entire system from finances and logistics to influence and fear tactics.
Restoring Public Confidence
Police officers believe this plan will help bring peace and safety back to Delhi’s streets. With better coordination, faster action, and stronger legal measures, authorities aim to make sure no gang or criminal group feels untouchable.
A senior officer said, “This time, we are not stopping at arrests. We are going after the roots of organised crime. Delhi will not tolerate lawlessness.”
This new initiative marks one of the strongest anti-crime campaigns launched in the capital in recent years, a clear message from Delhi Police that the era of organised gangs is coming to an end.
